Whilst not wishing to sound girly, I found the show us your AV set ups and kitches very interesting.

I am about to start work on my bathroom and would be interested in seeing what fellow PHers have in their homes.

Particulary interested in seeing if anyone has went as far as to fit a TV or similair in there.

Show us what you got.

Oh and I fully expect I may get flamed or ignored in asking this but worth the risk I think....

Have you concidered something like this?

Lacking a digital camera, I can't show mine, but the best possible advice I can give you is to treat it like a bloke's project.
Start a list of all the little bugbears and issues you have with your own bathroom. Be nosey about others and look for funky features. When you start planning, tick off each item. It's the little things that make it special. The things I like in mine include:

• Two shaver points: one for the shaver, one for the toothbrush (or one for him, one for her, take your pick). No more messing around when both need charging.
• A small towel by the bath, because the main towels are out of reach.
• Fresh towels stacked on shelves. No waddling round the house with your junk hanging out.

Whilst I can't swear to a TV (very expensive), music is a must. If I redid the bathroom I'd seriously consider TV if only to catch the breakfast news while I'm getting up.

That's really nice, similair budget and size room to me.

Does anyone know who makes the baths for homebase? They seem to be the only people selling what I want - bath which is set up for having a shower at one end, i.e. the walls at at near to 90 degrees to the floor, have a bevelled floor and the sides slim down to give more space - with out the sides getting bigger on the outside.

This is what I want,

I just want it without the tap holes drilled. The store say they arrive like that and can't help.

With regards to the tv, found some at http://www.videotree.com/products.php but worryingly they seem to be half the price of other stores, don't want to take any chances. Can anyone recommend a company? Oh and what size would you recommend for placing at the other end of the bath? Don't want to spend all this money and then find I can't make out what's going on.

i think that is the site i got my bath from. if that is the one, then the bath will come taped to a large pallete (sp?). fairly quick delivery if i recall. I was very happy with the quality of my bath (the rectangularo double ended). nice sturdy plastic, good solid base with lots of adjustment built in. and fairly cheap too.

The universal advice I had was to go for Kaldewei or Bette for steel baths, and I certainly can't complain. I'm pretty sure they have some square-edged units, and if you go through an independent retailer, the basic supply will be with no holes (you specify where they go, or indeed not at all). They also have special baths with a widened area for standing in the shower which are definitely worth considering. If you go for the style in your link, you've probably twigged to move the taps onto the wall away from the shower (so they are accessible and you don't get your head wet when you turn them on).
Final tip for baths is to construct a sturdy 2x4 frame that supports the top edge as well as the feet. It eliminates flex and the edge seal will last forever.

We bought a 1970's house with only a downstairs bathroom, this is what we fitted in the corner of our bedroom last year.

Saves those 3 in the morning trips down stairs.

I can't view your picture but what you need is a shower bath like this


I have just had one installed. No taps on the bath, bath filler and shower all controlled by the knobs below the shower.


Any plumbers merchant should be able to sort you out.
