Hosting a Pub Quiz
Discussion
Right so I (with a friend) am hosting a university pub quiz in a couple of weeks time and want some ideas to make it fun and funny. I'd quite like some ideas to get people interacting - some games to break up the rounds, that kind of thing.
If anyone has done this kind of thing and has some ideas, that would be great. I don't really want it to be a boring standard pub quiz just answering questions and wanting it to be over quicker!
Also any source of questions would be useful too.
Thanks

Music rounds are always funny.. Play two\three seconds from a song and then ask them to name it.
Also, give all tables a map of the world, play clues as to a country for each question, and they have to put the Q number on the map in the right country.
I went to one where they handed out an A4 page of flags of countries as well, and during the quiz you had to fill that in and ID the country from the flag..

Extra rounds to break up the teams...
Things like Sudoku, picture round, Numbers game, crossword...Dingbats...
All to be completed during the questions - the teams will have to sacrifice someone during that round. Lets the ones who can't do sport or music the chance...
The puzzle etc, has to be completed in the time of that Question round.
Collect at the end of the questions -correct teams get extra points or a prize.
I've done it - Works OK.

Don't forget a beer break.
I went to one quiz and they forgot this!!!! Mentalists.
Just make the questions interesting and a few fun ones. I think it is more important that YOU perform well, if you are an amateur stand up you should do well. If you have the personality of brick, it will be a bad quiz.
