Just a thought, given we had 8 or 10" snow fall overnight and another 2 or 3" during the day, how much does that convert roughly if it had fallen as rain ?
Not an exact science I know but it is all water after all.
Too much for the drains to cope with! Not an exact science I know but it is all water after all.

It would seem from the link snow is about 10% the density of water, so that is still an inch or so of rain in one night !

Very roughly, a foot of snow is about an inch of rain, I think. Not an exact science I know but it is all water after all.
