Good effort! I wonder how much that cost though eek

Presumably it was to stop it getting into enemy hands? Anyone know the story behind this?

I think that was the one that landed after they had dug a large hole in the runway.

There is another story involving the balkans, a C130, my mate, a large (make that huge) amount of money and some mistake in the units that explosive cutting cord came in. metres not millimetres

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it was damaged by an IED as it landed. As it was a remote strip that was only temporarily secured they couldn't repair it so destroyed it as a precaution. Insurgents could have used it as a come-on or stripped parts for sale etc.

Not a chance.

The one in the video still has its wings on for a start.

Yip. They'll be sensitive equipment on board that we don't want the bad guys to get - esp computers and communication (encryption) equipment

congratulations!!! for some reason i didn't see the start of the video, but instead a rather nice explosion, the nose is entirely different as well, but there you go. Can't be a know it all on everything, there's always someone else to do that wink

I remember the plane you mentioned and I definitely remember it being a total mess whereas this one didn't look quite so bad.

Must have been American as we'd have been forced to bring it home. smile. Pity we couldn't have done that too an F3 a few years ago, but that again is another story.
