Theatre Tickets

Thought I'd book a couple of tickets to see a play which is currently touring the country with Mrs V8.

Nearest locations for me are Norwich or London.

For the best seats in both locations the ticket prices are £27.50 and £44 respectively.

Which kind of grates a bit...

BUT, booking directly with the theatre in both instances, (i.e. not using a ticket agent), the booking charges, PER PERSON, are £11 and £0.75 respectively.

WTF???

What possible justification can there be to add £22 to the price when ordering a couple of tickets?

And the idiots in 'the arts' wonder why people just stay at home and watch downloaded movies.

If that's the case, it's a bit rum you have to buy tickets. Couldn't she get you comps?

Know how you feel but that is what the middle man (ticket agent) does. More to the point if people weren't so lazy more of them would book direct.

st I even booked Paris Opera tickets direct as the agents just didn't make any sense!

V8....have a look at the Top Table web site...they often do good theatre deals with dinner thrown in....

But those fees WERE by booking direct with the theatres. Just that the London theatre feels they can charge £11 per ticket in fees whereas the provincial theatre only chargs 75p (the cost of an envelope and a stamp).
