Wireless Security camera with PC video capture

I'm looking at setting up a wireless (cameras will have mains power) security camera setup with up to 4 cameras. I need to capture the video output to a PC. I will have a dedicated laptop for this (2Ghz CPU, 60Gb hard drive, 2Gb ram). I'll need some kind of video capture card, so since it's a laptop it will have to be a PCMCIA or Firewire since these are supported by the laptop. I'll also want access via the internet to the footage. I have wireless broadband installed in the property.
Cameras should be external, have night (infra red) capability and motion sensor.
So, any ideas on possible configurations, packages that I can look at for this. I know it's possible but justneed to make sure I don't omit any part of the setup.
Have I missed anything out in describing what I want?

I've got one of the previous models, it's dead simple to set up. You can view it live, or you can configure it to detect motion and send a short video clip by email. The recorder utility that comes with it is a bit basic. There might be third party software available to do so with a bit more sophistication - I was thinking of writing something myself, capturing and saving the stream from it is easy. I don't know enough about video encoding to view the stream, but if I had time I'm sure I could do it, so I'm sure someone could have done something.

I would be careful about getting cameras with night vision Leds in.
These attract flies and especially spiders. A spiders web will render your camera completely useless, and you will find yourself having to clear them off, only for a new one to return the same evening.
Get low lux cameras,and use a seperate infrared flood light system.

Honestly couldn't agree more. There are some threads that you know, from the title, that if you click on them you might so a naughty embedded image.
