My bumhole of a boss has decided to take an idea that I suggested a little while ago and use it as his own.

Obvoiusly I am much more intelligent that he is and he sees me as a threat to his position so feels the need to steal my genius and pass it off as his own creation.

So, what to do about it?

Do I resort to playground tactics and make him look the fool that he is in front of his boss, letting him know that the idea was mine.

or

Do I let him get away with it and keep my ideas to myself in future? Put it down to experience and move on.

or

Do I photoshop his head onto a picture rather deviant explicit $ex scene and mail it to his wife smile

Kill him dead and bury his body in the snow!.. Then go round and put his wifes back doors in...

Or just do nothing and keep your job

Up to you really..

Given that it was an idea you had awhile ago you've probably thought of a hundred reasons why it is not a viable concept. Merely tear it to tiny little bits in a letter to your boss' boss.

Every idea has its pro's and con's - work out what the con's are and slip one in to make it fail.

Could you not of gone above your immediate boss with this idea in the first place, or is he the big cheese?

OP, are you a freelance contractor or a permanent member of staff?

If you are a contractor - keep quiet and let it go.

If you are a permie - cross examine him when he presents the idea as his own and fire as many awkward questions as you can.

Good luck biggrin

If you pick the former I admire and respect you, if you elect the pathetic latter, well I just hope you can live with yourself.

You can't be that intelligent if you give all your best ideas away and can't spell obviously....biggrin

Casually mention to his boss

1. 'Did you like my idea of ........'

or

2. 'You know he's a convicted sex pest/beast don't you?'

Whilst I whole heartedly agree with the sentiment, sometimes it's better to suck it in and still be able to pay the mortgage.

There are other things to consider, like is it a total no brain rip off or is it a refinement based on a lose idea? If a total rip off I am sure you will find a way to make it obvious who is making it work to those that matter. Soon enough someone will ask how come you know so much about it, or at the very least prove yourself.

I'd go with the, 'killing him dead and burying the body in the snow' idea myself.

I doubt that. I'm sure he likes you exactly where he's got you: feeding him great ideas for a fraction of his salary.

It's what bosses do. Get over it.

I've always thought that slogan would make a great T-Shirt. That was until I realised the converse of that slogan is back towards friends, which sounds kinda gay.
