So,

We have an idea, a type of invention, and we want to approach a company and see if they are interested. Anyone know how to go about it?

An NDA for starters. Other then that youd have to go down the patent route.

What's an NDA? Non disclosure agreement?

And you can't copyright an idea, only the expression of that idea as I understand.

It took THIS long for that answer.. I was expecting it by post 3 at the latest....

And B&B, yep, that's how I understand it too, but I read copyright law many years ago now, the old grey matter wasn't interested in it then (I had the world's dullest lecturer).......
