Oh flip, useless at deciding things.
I am flying out from Heathrow T3 next Saturday at 2040hrs.
I have learnt that the emergency exit seats are available when check in opens at 1740hrs. I suspect that this means "Be here at 1740".
Having evaluated all transport options the express coach is the best.
There are 2 options- One gets in at 1555hrs, one at 1655hrs.
Which do I choose? Bearing in mind desire to nab exit seat versus desire not to spend TOOOO long at HR? I am slightly wary about major traffic disasters, but still have 45min window on the later bus?!?

I'd get the earlier one, so I could spend more time in the airport at the food outlets... Plus I have this irrational fear that I will miss my flight one of these days, so I get the airport with time to spare..
Hmm, am thinking that, but am also thinking that excessive time at LHR could be a bind... If I arrive on time at 4 (earlier bus) I have nearly 2hrs to wait to check in, then 3hrs to wait for flight to depart! Then, of course, a 16hr flight. Ouch.andy-xr said:
Cant you check in online and pick your seat before you arrive?
He wants the exit seats, which generally can only be secured at the check in desk...but not always - SAA seem to allow check-in for these seats when leaving SA and I checked in online today for a short EDI-LHR hop in the exit seat.Puggit said:

I assume that T3 means you're going somewhere far and not a 2 hour hop to Copenhagen?
Oui!

I always plan to have more time at the airport/ferry port/train station than less. You can always find something to do, but if you are cutting it fine and there is a hold-up on the way, you may not get your flight.
This has happened before to work colleagues, resulting in getting as far as the m4/m25 junction from Nottingham then having to come back, because of three separate accidents en route. This was in the early hours of a Sunday morning, too.

Anyone actually answering your query is simply reinforcing your belief that such a pathetic approach is justified.
I, on the other hand, am trying to help you improve yourself, by making you consider your pathetic state.
Consider it.
Rather be stupidly early than just in time. I recall turning up at Munich airport with 5 minutes to spare having jumped from one train to another to get to the airport, not entirely sure if I was in the right station or not for the train change. Had nightmares of missing the flight and trying to find someone who could speak English for weeks after. That'll teach me for going to a school that didn't teach German.
