200 birds, 1 rifle and 8 hours.

So, we've had a problem with birds in the workshop and tractor shed stting on everything and setting up nests.

The boss finally had enough of it and asked me to stay and try and wipe them out.

So armed with 500 batshot bullets (so as not to blow a hole in the roof) and a 450 marlin Mannlicher Pro Hunter i set about them.

Well, i used 280 bullets and shot 200 birds, to be quite frank, they didn't stand much chance once it got dark.

I'm going back tonight to finish off the rest

I'm not a vegetarian. I just agree that it seems an odd thing to appear proud about.

Do you feel any guilt about doing this? They are living creatures after all that you have killed. I'm not saying you did wrong, you had a problem and you sorted it. Not sure I could do that though, not that way.

I'd have felt guilty if they hadn't been stting on everything and trying to attack you when you went in the workshop.

It's pest control at the end of the day.

The best thing about the snow is putting a tarpaulin over your favoured field
Removing it after the snow stops, putting out your decoys- a few pigeon and a couple
Of crows, go back to your hide and have the best days shooting ever

I'm not that bothered one way or the other. If they really do need to be killed, then fine. Seems a bit odd to be wearing your happy little smilie proud face though.

I assume this will be an ongoing pastime.
