What do you eat for lunch at work?

Specifically thinking things that you bring in yourself...

We have a canteen which is subsidised but its not exactly healthy....

Bored of the usual sarnies and tins of soup heated up in the microwave....

Tub of - pasta, tuna, boiled egg & cottage cheese. Not very exciting, but it's high protein and gives me the ability to clear the office of people with a break of wind at will biggrin

Very boring here. Cheese or ham sandwiches, banana, yoghurt, some sort of cake. Maybe some soup or something.

Lot of the time I'm not working in the office, so just buy whatever is convenient on expenses!

The only thing I bring myself is a small pack of shredded wheat for breakfast...
It has to be that way to prevent me from getting obese from the ridicilously calorie-rich lunches.

My colleagues and I, are all "food enthusiasts" and even when we all agree that we should tone our lunches down. It goes like this:
What we having for lunch?
I'll have a ceasar salad from M&S
Oh and some chicken
Oh and some crispy bacon strips
Oh and some fruit
Also, I think some crisps would go well with that...

Today I are mostly eating Sushi.

And a bag of cheese and onion crisps. Well stylish, me.

salad or soup usually. sometimes leftovers from the night before. we have a kitchen in the office so we could theoretically compete with the canteen, have often considered undercutting them on bacon butties!

We have a kitchen with a fridge, toaster and microwave so whatever you fancy for lunch really.

Being in town, we also have a number of establishments that will deliver, so quite often the boys in the warehouse end up with Kebabs, burgers, pizza and Indian for their lunch.

I sometimes join them, but it's normally something a bit lighter than what they end up eating at lunchtime.

I assume you do the Boots Meal Deal challenge? Current champion at our place has saved £3.01 on one Meal Deal, which I think is the maximum possible...

I try to buy something to last throughout the week. The few days I've had a mixed salad with games pie, Gloucester cheese, tomato and chile chutney and some Tyrelly crisps. I find that way I get a really nice lunch for less than £3 a day. Shepards Pie next week lick

Some of our 'regulars':

Tortilla in crusty bread
Chicken leftovers dressed in peanut & chilli sauce with noodles and salad
Smoked salmon, crackers, and a dressing of mayo, yogurt and horseradish
Soup at least once a week (cock-a-leekie, carrot and cumin, pea & ham, smoked haddock chowder all dead easy)
Tinned crab dressed with chopped red chilli and limejuice, salad
Chicken, dressing, pasta
Pork pie with cherry toms, green salad, pickle
Leftover sausages with pasta and a dressing of mayo, yogurt and grain mustard
Various sandwiches - cheese, prawns, ham etc
Ploughmans (cheese, pickled onions) and Waldorf salad (celery, apple, walnuts, dressing)
Potato and bacon salad
Brie, sunblush tomatoes, stuffed vine leaves
Homemade sausage rolls, pickle, salad
Pate, salad, crackers
Falafels with salad or in a pitta

None of them take more than about 15 minutes to prepare the night before. I don't often put leaves in lunchbox salads because they go horrible. Salad for packups is generally celery, cucumber, cherry toms, radish, carrot all cut in to big chunks we can eat with our fingers.

And a piece of fruit. Plus crisps or something for him in addition.

My stock dressing is 1tbs mayo, 1tbs plain yogurt and a strong flavour (garlic, dill, mustard, horseradish). I put the yog in because I find mayo a bit sickly. I bung that in to one of those tiny jam jars that you get for breakfast in hotels, and put it on at the last minute.

About to make couscous with Marigold Bouillon powder and mixed seeds (pumpkin, sesame seed, flaxseed and sunflower seeds) with a mixed red pepper salad, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and sesame seed oil, topped with a dash of pepper.

No, I'm not on a diet.
