I've not heard it mentioned yet as everyone seems to be pre-occupied with grit supplies
etc... but surely it's all going to melt soon and a weeks worth of precipitation it going
to attempt to disperse over housing estates built on the flood plains. Bigger problems
ahead perhaps?

It won't all melt at once ... don't think we can compare it to a large fast downpour...maybe

I reckon we'll be OK unless it suddenly turns to rain.

Fflash floods are the usual cause. Gradual release from snow melt will not be so much of a problem. Still, it will not help if we get heavy rain soon on already saturated ground.

Thinking about it I can see that factors such as the accumulation, melt speed,
subsequent rain are factors, it's just that the way rivers work, building up
steam (so to speak) the further downstream you go, there's gotta be some
trouble ahead.
