First they came for the hunters
then they came for the smokers,
then those who shoot for sport,
then they came for the overweight
and the drinkers of alcohol,
then those who carry a swiss army knife,
and then the people who drive cars
Now they come for those that want holidays.
When they come for you no-one will be left to hear you ask for help.
How did the UK ever become so fascist?
Sorry edited that a bit. It really is getting silly now.then they came for the smokers,
then those who shoot for sport,
then they came for the overweight
and the drinkers of alcohol,
then those who carry a swiss army knife,

Well I am taking my first ever flight this month, I am flying from Manchester to Heathrow, so do I get 39 years worth of flights to use up before I hit my rationed limit?
Also, the comment about taxing domestic flights out of the sky, can we remind them of that comment when they all start flying to their constituencies at election time?
Just read the article to the other half, and he wants to know if we can start one of those petitions up, one calling for the gubberment to keep their noses out of peoples' lives!

I think this is very stupid idea. But I do not think there is much need for flights with in the UK because is so small. But it does not mean they should have more tax. Also, the comment about taxing domestic flights out of the sky, can we remind them of that comment when they all start flying to their constituencies at election time?

For me the issue is that a 'reasonably' sane person who is charged with being the head of the government's Climate doodah committee can come up with this stuff in the first place.
He is not challenged for his assertion and the ramifications invoked, his comments are just accepted as something that the Great & The Good should consider imposing on the rest of us for our own 'safety'.

k him, f
k the lot of them.

k the lot of them. The mind boggles, it really does - have these people no sense of proportion? I'd love to see the result of no domestic flights on traffic - oh, that's right, then you'd have to either fork out cash for 'environment tolls' charges or rely on unreliable, non-existant, inconvenient, under-invested public transport.
guess labour better stop the third runway, seems it will prevent all the other hub airports from expanding and they might have to cut back on flights to save the planet from global warming
maybe everyone gets an allowance and can sell their "right" to have a flight.
Guess this will not apply to nu labia and other ministers on fact finding tours
