Talking to Customer Services at Orange
Discussion
Background -
Sun - phoned orange, arranged free upgrade and new talkplan, all seemed to go well, pleasent lady at customer services, good deal sorted.
Tues - Phone arrived on time, excellent. Opened it up, wrong model sent, not happy, phoned Orange, arranged for phone to be returned and correct one sent out, would get credited cost of postage.
Fri - Not heard anything, phone Orange, explain above, guy on phone said the model I wanted not on system anymore was taken off yesterday so even though I ordered it last wk and wrong phone sent I now can't get the phone I wanted unless I went to a shop, sorry he couldn't do anything, by this time I am ready to lose it big time, I start to rant about being a long time customer and how I knew it was too good to be true when I first arranged the order and I wonder why I stay with Orange etc.. At this point my Orange phone loses signal and cuts me off!! This guy is probably quite relieved
I phone back as I am still not happy, get a different guy, explain above again, however straight away he apologises confirms that the phone isn't available and asks what I liked about the model I was after and had a look to see if there were other similar style phones that would be acceptable, I start to calm down and after allowing me time to look up a couple of reviews on the internet I decide on having a different model, hopefully it'll arrive Tues!
I suppose my point to this is how differently 2 conversations can go! The first one I was ready to tell Orange to stick it you know where, the 2nd I am getting a different phone all down to the much better attitude from the customer services chap and now I've also told everyone on PH about this I feel much calmer and happy again

Orange are a nightmare!!
I was two weeks without my phone after the SIM packed up, took them a week to realise this was the problem and another week to get off their a*ses to send a new one!
Several times when I rang the response was "Oh that hasnt been logged, I'll do it now!"
Luckily we had a spare SIM so I could make calls and they kept it topped up for free.
Threatened to boycott the network, got £15 credit and an apology. They better do a good deal on my contract renewal though

You get what you pay for. Think yourself lucky you didn't go with 3mobile.. I'm now at Orange with a £45 plan and yes it costs more than twice what my old contract cost, but the phone works, they guarantee to answer your call within 5 rings, they know my name, they are not Indian and called Geoff, and they sent my replacement phone the next day when I dropped it in the bath I was two weeks without my phone after the SIM packed up, took them a week to realise this was the problem and another week to get off their a*ses to send a new one!

I gave up PAYG years ago because you don't get any customer service. If you want customer service go contract
