Personal breathalisers

Now I think it was 5th gear (or possibly not) the other week and they were testing the personal ones that you can use to check you are under the limit. I have searched on here and not found anything about it and there is nowt on the 5th gear website either.
Ok, which of the ones they tested was the most accurate?

I know this doesn't help, but just don't drink if you know you'll be driving ... I suppose it might be quite useful for checking to see if you're still over the limit the morning after

Dont trust them.
We bought one for a laugh and went on the piss with it.
You would be amazed how many were still passing after 8 pints.

Thanks, it does not help as I am well aware of the dangers of dd and I do not drink a lot even if I am not driving. I rarely drink enough to be over the limit the following day and I would rather have one just in case. I was thinking of taking it with me when I go to some social events with friends who quite happily drink excessively to the early hours and I see them at breakfast. I thought, rightly or wrongly that I could offer it to anybody that wanted to check themselves.

I would think the safest bet is to not drink and drive?

The bottom line is any consumer test may say you are ok, but the only one that counts is the one plod asks you to blow into.

Just don't rely on the results, as nottyash posted & I read in anotehr thread they are falible.
They maybe OK as a guide but I doubt BiB would let you off.
