Am posting here rather in roads to get the best response (sorry I hope it's not a problem).

I have to come over from Belgium to Holbeach on Monday (9 February). Will be arriving in the UK at about 02:00 Monday morning. Unfortunately I can't change the date, but because of the weather conditions I'm hoping to get some advice from forum members.

I travel quite regularly to Cambridge from Dover, so I know the road that far, and am hoping that the motorways will be reasonable.

What I need is advice on road conditions along the route Dover(M20) - London(M25) - Cambridge(M11) - Holbeach (A roads and smaller).

I understand it's still more than 24 hours to go, and that conditions can change, but I would be grateful for any info forum members can give over the current road conditions, especially for the last stretch - Cambridge to Holbeach.

From my perspective - M20 through to Northbound on M25 as far as Dartford Crossing all clear.

crmcatee - thanks!

mybrainhurts - We've got loads of stuff like that (agricultural contracting business) - both tracked and 4,6 and 8-wheel drive.

road condition fine - I am in Holbeach and travelling is fine. roads round here are clear. I would go A16 from Peterborough to Spalding then A151 to Holbeach, rather than cut cross-country or use the A1073, as they are normally the worst hit areas.

Should take you 90 minutes from Cambridge to Holbeach.

Just a quick bump - looking for updates on the road situation. Anybody?

Are we mad to be trying this?

currently snowing here - not alot, but it may settle. Stick to the main roads, you should be fine. If stuck in morning for directions, coffee stop etc, PM me. Will be up and about after 8-9.
