She spoke out against the sacking of that Talk Sport knobber who got sacked for acting a c***.
Suprised me, but also went some way to convincing me she is at least even handed.
A right wing shock dj catering to the lowest common denominator isn't the most predictable thing for her to get on her soap box defending after all.

I certainly do not agree with a lot of what she says, or who she stands up for, but I certainly respect what she does – she seems very passionate in her beliefs and convictions, and strikes me as the kind of person who would rather die than ‘sell out’ just to gain popularity/cheap political points. With someone as unflinching as her, I cannot help but respect her, regardless of her views.

"making money from defending terrorists"?
She's not a lawyer (I'm not going to get into the standar argument with the pub moron as to "why do lawyers defend the guilty?").
Simpo 2's post is racist.
Some of you are just too thick and prejudiced to understand the need for someone like her. She's not always riht, but she cares about our freedoms and she campaigns for them. She carries no brief for any other cause.

k off and find somewhere to live that doesn't have so much wrong (in her opinion) with it. Fittster said:

I agree with you. I've always had a lot of time for her. With our present Government eroding our traditional liberties at an alarming rate we need people like Shami Chakrabarti more than ever before. To the OP - why are you against her?
considering the general level of support for individual freedoms on this site, you'd have though she'd been something of a (somewhat different!) pinup for PHeaders

Then again the same thing could be said for a LOT (and some might say, the majority) of P&P contributors...
k off and find somewhere to live that doesn't have so much wrong (in her opinion) with it. TBH I quite like her. Regardless of whether you agree with everything she says, there aren't enough people who are willing to stand up for what they believe in these days. Long may she be a thorn in the governments side.
