Can I light up with a soldering iron

Basically I left my lighter in the car which is bloody miles away, and i don't wish to use the toaster or cooker, what sort of temp does a soldering iron get to?

It sounds like you're better placed to tell us if you can light up from a soldering iron.
I've had very poor results with electric cookers in the past, slightly better with toasters. I would imagine a soldering iron would be more like an electric cooker and just brown the end. You must have some other source of fire?

Decided against the soldering iron, toaster is just a no, as i don't really want to cook and light off the same thing that makes my breakfast.
Improvised with a piece of paper and some zippo fluid on the cooker and got a tea-light candle lit, all is good with the world again...

Not a good idea because a bit of lead might be bad for him? As opposed to the special health cigarette he's trying to light with it...
