Stag do - Penrith
Discussion
A mate of ours is due to get married in a couple of months time, and is having is stag do at this place near Penrith -
http://www.rookinhouse.co.uk/
It looks like a bit of an 'outdoorsy' type place (quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, human bowling!!! etc), was wandering if anyone had been here before and what they reckon to it?
Also, what is Penrith like for a night out? Not expecting anything anythin out of the ordinary, just want to know whether its a decent night or if we need to pack knuckle dusters and stab vests...?? Lol

Haha, looks like this should be errr, fun!!
Glad the place looks good during the day, but might see if people want to f*ck the travel inn off and just camp somewhere (read catch hypothermia....) and get well and truly smashed there instead!
Wish me look guys.....!!
Seriously, look into the accommodation options in Keswick. In fact, I'd even pick little Glenridding (couple of decent pubs) over Penrith.Glad the place looks good during the day, but might see if people want to f*ck the travel inn off and just camp somewhere (read catch hypothermia....) and get well and truly smashed there instead!

I organised my mates stag at rookin house a couple of years ago.
A bit of waiting around between activities but a good day overall.
There wasn't a cafe or anywhere to get food (then) so take some with you.
The go-karts were by far the best part of the day.
Pretty basic circuit in a cow shed, complete with cow s
t and mud all over the track.
Just as you get the feel of the kart and how fast you can take the corners the marshalls start chucking buckets of water around and it all gets very messy!
Keswick has some decent pubs and a decent curry house. I was in Penrith last week, didn't look to be much there.
