THe original plan for the Dome was to get existing operators like Tussauds and a couple of the others to have a hand in its creation and operation.The guy at the root of the Millennium Dome was Michael Heseltine, only he didn't have to pay for it. When Labour took over, all of those plans were dropped and the politicians (lefties) took over and create LeftyLand, The World According To Socialism. Didn't anyone see Lord Falconer on a documentary once completely over ruling the consultants on various aspects of the projects?
The biggest mistake they made, the unforgivable mistake, was to not allow people to drive to the Dome.
Parents with 2 young children, couple of pushchairs, mum and dad, a bit of food (because lets face it the food is never cheap in those places), who then had to park 5 miles away, negotiate a train or two to get to the Dome, with probably a good long walk whilst doing it, were not going to visit the Dome because it was simply too much effort. And who could blame them?
