Does Darling have anything to do with it? They just wheel him out to deliver bad news whilst they get on with his job, don't they (Brown & Mandelson)?

Won't work. It might have the effect of boosting the pound slightly against the dollar as it will inevitably cause inflation there.

So Obama makes his first major move to stimulate the economy, the opposition have the knives out saying it will never work.
