Thinking about going to Waterworld in Stoke at the weekend (with 3 yr old).

Has anyone been? Is it any good?

Guess not.

What about the water park at Alton Towers?

been when I lived in Stoke, it's just a really big fun pool, a 3yr old may be too small to have real fun though and will keep you off the good water slides

Perhaps a fundamental flaw is that it is in stoke?

The waterpark at Alton Towers is great. If you stay the night and go to the theme park the next day it's not bad value either.

It's alright I suppose. I went last summer with my kids aged 4 and 2. It felt a bit tired everywhere and there were quite a few scrotes charging around. There's a few baby slides which my kids quickly got bored of and the big slides were a bit too big for them. We stayed for about an hour and that was fine but I wouldn't suggest trying to make a day of it.

I have been, great fun. I went when it was very quiet, it would probably be less fun when busy.

I actually went the other week, and it was a good laugh. For adults it's £7 each though. Was quite busy midweek so would hate to go at a weekend.

Waterworld is quite horrible. It's one of the worst of it's ilk. Seriously, don't bother. If you're looking for that kind of thing, then either a weekend at any Centre Parcs or Splash Landings (Alton Towers) is streets ahead.

Trust me - I have three kids, I know about this kind of thing. If you're a teenage boy, looking for a peek at some teenage girls while you throw chips into a swimming pool, Waterworld is great. Otherwise it's horrid.

Alton Towers it is then!

I was a bit worried when the Stoke web site was boasting about its refurb in 1998!

While you are here, you can take your lad to the Monkey forest at Trentham. Great time for kids.

+1 Had a couple of weekend stays there and really enjoyed it,splash landings was good, with good accomadation, the pool area and the bars with kids entertainment in the evening...plus being a guest gets you into the park early on the sunday morning before the gates open so you can get on the big rides without having to que at all..... best thing was i won the weekend in a radio competition, and when i got there they didnt take the tickets i was given off me and issued me with fresh ones...... so i went again a few months later biggrin
