Whats with all the mental haircuts these days? It was only a couple of years ago we were watching "I Love 1984" on BBC2 and laughing at the stupid haircuts, now for instance a bar man in my local has just had his hair cut like this:

And I'm the only one who finds it funny/absurd. Everyone else hasn't batted an eyelid (or heard of Flock of Seaguls)

Another example: I was away on a lads holiday to Prague last November, we were staying in a hostel and there were also some birds staying in the room, when packing I picked up a pair of hair straighteners from the floor and said to one of the guys in a joking voice "here's you hair straghteners 'Arry" to which he replied "cheers I wondered were they were". - Gobsmacked does not cover my reaction.

Whats going on? Whats wrong with a "short back and sides" or number 2'ing the lot off?

Am I an old fker (at 25) or has the world gone mad.

I must admit these cuts look terrible. But skinny jeans arnt bad.

I mix with this culture of people. It is afterall fashion, just like mullets were in the 80's.

Middle age? You cheeky fecker I'm 25 (as stated in the OP), although with the way I eat I'll probably be dead at 50 so maybe middle aged.

3 of my mates now use hair straighteners. I don't see the point myself, but then my hair only gets combed/brushed my the barber. And that's only so it doesn't clog the clippers! I have now upgraded my hair cuts from a number 4 all over every 6-7 months, to a short back and sides every 3 months. But then some of my friends can be a bit "metrosexual", the bloody gayers.

It's a mindset rather than a process of sagging.

You are middle aged. You were probably born middle aged.

Oh, I'm 24 fwiw

When my hair gets long enough to be sticking up in the morning, then it's time to get the clippers out, fit the no.2 attachment and shave it all off.

do you have weird hair ? wink

theres fashion and there is style. silly floppy 80s new romantic wannabe hair is not stylish, nor is a mullet

now you may castigate me for being old before my time, perhaps you would be right. but in all honesty I would refute that

Kids can do whatever the hell they like, there kids they dont know better but when you have people in their mid 20's looking like that, seriously. (to paraphrase chopper) harden the fk up

what are you thinking ! silly haired peoples. its not right smile

No actually, it's quite normal. Not a short back and sides - it's styled to a certain degree but I don't need hair straighteners for it.

+1

I think this whole flock of seagulls look tends to be a bit EMO, and the skinny jeans go hand in hand with that.

To those that sport such a look, I say cheer up, get a job and get a proper haircut! biggrin

I used to do that, but I have a customer facing job now, so I feel I should spend at least some effort looking tidy.

I use Dax Wax in the red tin to spike up my hair, I'm allowed though, I'm 22 biggrin I don't suit very short hair like a no1 or 2, and its a complete mess over about 1 inch long so Wax is necessary. Don't like hair gel though, the wet look is a bit "15 year old spotty teenager" for me, my hair when spiky has a "matt" sort of look to it. Some of my mates straighten their hair and put wax in, it looks quite good actually, nothing like the OPs pic, so I don't take the piss.
