Anyone know anything about Energy Assessors / becomign one

Hello,

Quite simple but boring post : my friend is thinking about paying out nearly £4k to train to become an energy assessor. Obviously the people offering the course say he'll get tonnes of work.

Is this true? Any experiences?

Being a contractor I can help him with being self employed but am worried he's getting conned....

I looked at the same thing not long back, and attended an interview having blagged the qualificiations bit.

Didnt add up to me at all.

There are loads of people already doing it, and to be honest it isnt all its cracked up to be

This is what I was afraid of. . . he's being told he'll be able to get 12 jobs a week at £60-80 a go. . . which doesn't sound so bad.

Nearer 2 jobs a week, then take off the commission and so on.

Large con, wouldnt bother.

And the bloke i was interviewed by had really bad breath,and to be blunt, looked a lot like you might expect a paedo to

If you have the contacts to do it yourself, then it might stack up. But the promises of work, paying a percentage back, don't really make sense.

I looked at it myself - the course was less than £4k, but would have aimed to set up on my own doing it. Even then it seemed more like a last resort in case of redundancy rather than a career choice.
