I know these 'funny' ones are based on real ones but how are they 'motivational'?
Surely in order to still be 'funny motivational posters', they would need to have some semblance of a comedy motivational message otherwise they simply become 'photos on a black background with something written underneath'?
As an example, a picture of a 12 year old in a bikini with the slogan 'Jailbait - sometimes it's worth it' is not so much motivational as a vaguely amusing epithet, no?

They're known as 'demotivational posters' the fun started from one of those 'create your own' websites like the Atheist bus slogan generator posted recently.
