Just read a newspaper(?) report that showed a picture of Cheryl Cole (a pop singer) allegedly coming back from La La Land (LA) where she'd been discussing launching a career in the states?

I thought that the yanks didn't let people in who have criminal records?? Or is that only applicable to 'ordinary' folk?

You can go to the states but have to apply for a visa first (and have it approved obviously), you cannot participate in the Visa Waiver system that most non crims can... that is all, and I guess therefore that she has the required visa.
