Finding out the sex of your kids before they're born?
Discussion
had this very same argument. mrs wanted to know i didnt.
we came to the conclusion i was right. if you ask her now she'll tell you its the best decision i have ever made.
if you can talk her into not finding out, it will make the best day in your life just that little bit more special imho.

We decided to. Without any need for discussion actually, which is rare!
For me, it was one certainty in a time of great uncertainty!
Besides, as "he" was already 12 weeks or so in gestation his sex was already determined so I felt the urge to know.
I can fully understand anyone who doesn't want to know - perhaps next time under different circumstances I'll choose not to!
IIRC two family memebers (one on each side) didn't want to know - it was a difficult "secret" to keep! Especially when the OHs father refered to him as "he"!

Our first two boys we waited until the big day. Number 3 which was born last Friday we found out at scan time. I think it has made this pregnancy more exciting getting things sorted as we new it was a boy, name sorted, room sorted. Although the main reason we found out was for the sake of our 2 sons as they were adamant they didn't want a sister we figured if we new it was a girl we had time to get the boys on side. Luckily it was another boy, GET IN THERE!!!!!!!!
First time we were told - second time round the policy had changed and they wouldn't tell us, and I admit the surprise element was great. Third time round because we had one of each I really wanted to know as I didn't care either way and it was much easier to prepare and because we had moved to a different health authority they were fine about telling us.
With no 1 I wanted a real suprise and he was that - we both nearly pegged it at 32 weeks! He was very poorly and I found it hard to bond with a baby I couldn't pick up for several days and when I finally did he got so distressed that they had to dramatically increase oxgyen etc
With no2 - I decided to find out when we were having twice weekly scans (from 27 weeks ish). We knew the baby would have a better chance statistically if a girl. And it was. And I could plan which was good as she was another premmie.
