It is my local station and one I use quite a bit, it is a fairly quiet line taking around 140,000 passengers a year from Lea Road.

I can't see it getting replaced now.

Nooooooooo! I used to live on Lea Road, that signalbox is (was) just about the only distinctive building there. Was it still being used for controlling trains, or had it been closed before it was set on fire?

Oh, its been set on fire at 18:30 tonight, its ruined. It will never be replaced, the line will be seriously affected.

When I used to work a signal box the worst thing the kids use to do to it was throw snow balls at it. Sad to see a bit of history gone, but I bet the lever frame still works after all that.

I would never have thought that in one of our highest vandalism areas the fire could have been caused by a heater. So the reports allege.

replacing those should be top of broons shopping list not 7billion of HST replacement.

...., some diesel, some electric and some these "new fangled" "Hybrid" trains which are "diesel electric" apparently...


Any old green justification for 50 yr old technology and billions of £ to shore up his fxxcked up economy! Anyway, I digress, very very sad, that.
