Indoor Climbing Walls (leeds/Sheffield)

Ladies, Gents, Fancy a change of scenery for climbing(inddor), cant decide Leeds or Sheffield.

Will be staying over for a night out .. which offeres the better climbing and which offers the better nightlife ?

Sheffield's wall is full of look-at-me climbers. Why not go outside - the peaks are minutes away from Sheffield. Go and do Rivelin Needle - easy climb, but a cracking view.

I know it's not Leeds or Sheffield, but Richard Dunn sportscentre in Odsal (Bradford) had a good wall, I assume it's still there.

Not sure about the nightlife though

It's an excellent wall - just a shame about a percentage of the people who climb there.

The Climbing Works is good but bouldering only.

As above, the Foundry in Sheffield is the classic answer but an evening in Feb/winter? It's likely to be very crowded.

Nightlife - it's as much as you want to make of it, like anywhere. Both are University cities so no shortage of pubs and clubs of all standards.

The edge is pretty good, and as for the 'look at me' climbers, I seem to experience them wherever I climb indoors including the edge, but they don't laugh at how crap I am so it doesn't bother me too much. Whenever I'm that way I prefer to climb outdoors as it's so close to the Peak District

We're both inexperienced, only been climbing regularlly 4-5 months ... so waiting till gets a bit warmer for outside ..

Not worried about the "look at me brigade"
