To be fair on Asterix, its probably more a case of having a "western / christian" wedding in Dubai is not as easy as in the Med, close to home for them, yet close for friends and family from the UK to get there too.

Would you want to travel back to the UK to get married in thier situation?

John hit the nail on the head. No family though. Her dad can't travel after some heavy surgery a few months back so we told everyone to bog off. We're going to have a nice week away, get hitched and then have parties in Dubai and the UK.
