I am currently with Orange as a phone supplier and due for an upgrade as of tomorrow - now my contract doesn't finish till May 15th but I really want an I-Phone after playing with a mates last night. Does anyone know if there is any way of ending the contract early or would O2 buy you out like some people are offering (JAG Mobile [Who?]) being one of them...

You can but try, if you agree to stay with them for another 18 months or so or threaten to go elsewhere they may just help you out.

I just got an upgrade from Orange and i'm sure I had another month to go but they still sent the phone out early.

I think the Pukka Iphone only available through 02.

If you are really desperate just buy an unlocked phone and use it on your Orange network. That's what I did for my daughter.

Easy to do.

Call Orange and change your contract to the lowest available. (Don't tell them you are off at this stage)

Once change has been actioned, call them up and ask for the PAC number and offer to pay off the balance of the contract.

Take your PAC into O2 and get yourself an iPhone.

Orange allow you to upgrade 3 months before the end of your contract.

You are still contractually obliged to pay line rental until the end of your contract though.

Dropping your tariff is an option as above.

Thanks people, I might just drop it to the lowest tarrif then and go and get my PAC code...

The other option is the HTC Touch HD but I need to have a play with one first, which can be done if you order the upgrade over the phone.

The novelty will wear off, trust me. I've got an iPhone and a new BlackBerry 8900 (javelin) and the BB is, IMO, the better phone. The iPhone battery life really is as st and certain basic things like not being able to forward texts, the rubbish camera, no copy and paste etc will soon begin to grate.

I found the orange upgrade dept useless...

...but once you ring the cancellations dept you'll get a decent upgrade.
