Curious.... 'Petrolheads are mainly Tory?'

When I chose 'Other' I interpreted it as really saying "I couldn't give a stuff about politics, every politician is a corrupt power hungry eejit who couldn't hack it in a real job".

Other, as I don't really think it makes a difference what bunch of wkers we have sat in power. They are all useless and out of touch with the real world and what people want.

I vote for whoever I think would be best for the country as a whole.

Don't care about party names or slogans, don't care who party member go to bed with (purity is for drinking water, not people), don't care about their sexuality, don't care about what they look like or how they dress, don't care about piety, don't care about their accent or where they where born. All that I ask is that they form an effective government that is representative of the people and acts in their best interests. What more could we ask for?

So you aren't a Tory supporter then you just intend to vote for them which is a very very different thing

So you aren't a Tory supporter then you just intend to vote for them which is a very very different thing

personally id like to be able to pick and chose policies from different parties. I have never really understood (and Im mid 30s now so guess never will) why i should have allegiance, politically, to a set of ideals....surely I care whether they'll make the decisions I want on stuff like transport and health and the economy, rather than whether I share their their driving belief

There are a few things going on here

Firstly there is the "i would vote tory even if they had gordon brown as leader and they promised to come round and kick me very hard in the nuts as i'm a blindfolded idiot" tory voters

There is the "I think Dave cameron is a wonderful leader" tory voters (madder then first lot)

But mostly i think it is the "I'll vote for torys as they aren't labour" tory voters

Anything other than labour. I think I'd sooner vote Green.

In theory, the conservative ideal of equal opportunity for anyone willing to put the work in sounds spot on. In reality I wouldn't trust the current lot to organise a piss up in a brewery.

Conservatives will hit us with some serious 'Green' taxes if they get in.

However, I'd rather suffer that than the thought of this utterly inept, morally corrupt shower that are in at the moment. (And God help us if they get re-elected)

I voted 'other'....I don't know what, exactly, 'other' is yet, but so long as it isn't Tory, Lib Dem or Labour its looking good. As the Big Yin said, voting merely encourages them

I'll vote for pretty much anybody who will sort out the crap that I have to contend with each day out on the roads. Sadly that doesn't feature highly up any of the partys' agendas but I tend to favour the Tories over the current shower in this area.
