If you were having a dinner party, say for 8 guests and you'd spent a small fortune on a fore-rib of beef (£40), if you entered the kitchen only to find Moggy up on the work top contentedly licking away at the soon-to-be-cooked-to-perfection masterpiece, would you serve it to your unsuspecting dinner guests????

Assume temperatures above 180c would be achieved to sear the outside, medium rare within, so as to kill off any bacteria from the cow (or the cat).

banghead

yikes

Can't see why not...biggrin

Many years ago, Christmas morning we came downstairs to find the cats had somehow managed to pull the 18lb turkey off the side and onto the floor, where they were rather enthusiastically getting stuck in to the legs..

It still tasted fine...biggrin
You can just trim off a bit around where the moggy was eating.

Yes, and then I'd announce it to the guests halfway through the meal smile

Even if i caught the moggy humping the rump it would still be served.

No question.

"We're about to take the life of a public health inspector and you're asking "How's the cat?"! It's gone to London to see the Queen!"

i confessed about 5 years after the event. he still was not best pleased!

it was beef stuffed with cheese peppers & bacon, made for a dinner party and i completely forgot. once i realised i cringed on every mouthful.

i've since noticed each time i have one of his curries i have servere ring sting.

I've served horse steaks without telling the guests. Good laugh. Didn't them after either.
