.... and walk away. Time for a mini social/ political rant.
I want to vent some anger and where better than Pistonheads to do it!
For the first part of my rant I was inspired by the comments on the "father at 13" thread where someone made the very correct observation that heres a family that the Taxpayers going to have to support and just don't get it. This country is clearly going down the pan from people who are going to spend their lives claiming benefits. They way I see it, the only way we are going to have as strong an economy as recent times is for people to get there arses out of bed in the morning and give a solid days work. How did we get ourselves into this situation in the first place and how are we going to get out of it? Do you think we can find an Island somewhere (like we did with the ciminals and Australia) and ship everyone everyone who, say, has claimed benefits for more than 6 months? Ideally said Island shouldn't have as warm a climate as Oz.
Second part of the rant is something that also annoys me, the civil service/ Local Authority. I was speaking to my dad on Saturday and he said that he had read somewhere (citation pending!) that around a third of council tax now goes to pay the pensions of ex local authority bods. Again where will this end? surely they must pull the plug on civil service final salary pensions asap. I have friends who work in the civil service and do not hide the fact they dont have much to do at work. Most work 10-4 (and make up the flexi time deficit when they have to travel to the other side of the country for an "equality workshop" or similar as they are able to claim all travelling time and time spent in a hotel as flexi time)! In addition to the 10-4 hours, in the department of one of my mates they have cake and movie/ music quiz for an hour at 10:30 on Fridays. They justify their easy lifestyle on the fact that they get paid much less than others, but that is simply not true! It gets worse, I have another friend whos dad was in a relatively high paid job with the local authority. However they made his post redundant (although they clearly still needed him). As he was at a certain age he was given early retirement and started to draw his pension but also set up his own consultancy business, his biggest customer now? His old department! My friend joked the other day that his dad earns twice what he used to earn!
This rant could run and run, but for the sake of wasting anybody who decides to read my ravings lunch hour reading it i'll stop there!
I am only 26 and although I have massive personal ambition it is quashed by the state of the country all the taxes I have to pay which covers things that it really shouldn't!

k is this fking country coming to when a 13 y.o. kid can knock some fking bh up and expect the taxpayers to foot the fking bill again. The stupid bunch of benefit stealing wkers should be marooned on some stty little island and forced to dildo each other in the ass every fortnight......etc.

Lose all the ambition now, this country will not let you work your way to a position where you can retire well and early. You can be reasonably comfortable if you work long and hard but never rich.M3CHA-MONK3Y said:
