What is this tool for (cabling) ?

It came with an RJ45 crimper but this must be for something totally different.
On the reverse side it has some type of spring clip. And the whole system is on a ratchet so must be for crimping?

Any ideas?

There are various models about....Some crapper then others...(All the crap ones seem to be in my toolbox...

Its a hand crimping tool, for use with various size terminals usually bullets or bootlaces!

You could Google the RS part no, but tis best the PH way

As mentioned, google the part number as some are terminal specific, but that does look like the generic ones we use in work.

Be careful using it as the terminals only go in one way:

The cable side is the larger of the two crimp anvils as it crimps the terminal, the insulation and the conductor.

The terminal end side is smaller as it only crimps the terminal and the conductor.

They cost, reasonable pair, for about £35.00

Some more, some less.

I have decipered some of the writting on the reverse of that A4 paper your tool is on;

"Drop off 1 million by the agreed location or your dog gets it"
and

"Pint of milk
cheese
bread
dog food"

I should be in the police or a special agent in MFI y'no.

We use these at work too, but some of ours are used for insulated terminals, be they bullets,rings,bootlaces and forks! Some of them are terminal specific(as jhfozzy correctly said) but that particular one is a general one as far as i can see!!

This is the type for insulated crimps, like bullets etc.



Your crimpers have a steeper recess for non-insulated terminals like the one in my picture.
