I've just tried to refill the cartridge on my Parker Fountain pen. It wasn't expensive, it isn't posh and it does NOT make writing an event but I'm quite fond of it and would like to continue using it.

It uses a cartridge rather than a plunger and I have removed empty cartridge screwed in another and scribbled away for a bit but nothing seems to be coming out the nib. I've also just cleaned it with some god awful Cypriot spirit I had lying around but seemingly to no avail...

Anyone know how to make it write again?

Soak it in warm water for an hour or so.

Well, at school if our fountain pen blocked we would flick it several times in a sort of overhand motion until the back of the person who sat in front of us was covered in Parker's finest.

No, I just put in another cartridge but the ink didn't seem to want to flow through. Just dipped it in hot water and it seemed to sort it right out. Sorted and thanks for the tips...

Odd way to come out, but congratulations. Have you told your parents?
