London hotels - No good deals ATM

Trying to find a nice hotel in London to stay with the OH, last time we done this I managed to find a 'deluxe' room at The Renaissance Chancery Court with breakfast for £190

However at the moment I can't see any good deals at all, every hotel seems to be full price. Any suggestions as to where to look? It's for March 3rd...

Does it have to be London?

There are plenty of four/five star country or seaside hotels doing deals last time I looked ( a couple of weeks ago).

Lastminute.com comes up with some good ones for that date, even better is to use them to search for a price then call the actual hotel to see if you can get a similar price?

I only need the one night I'm afraid. There is a half decent deal on the Radisson Edwardian, I like the one in Manchester, and I believe the Bloomsbury one is a new hotel. So might not be too tired.

Try Hanbury Manor, just north of London. I used to be a member there. Great food and very nice rooms. It's a Marriot managed hotel and country club.

Go to lastminute.com and look at the Top Secret Hotels (i.e. you book and only find out where it is afterwards)

My wife & I stayed at Hotel du Vin, Winchester on Friday night for £145 for one of their top suites. Granted, not 5*, but a nice boutique' feel to it.

We're staying in the Marlin Apartments soon for two nights at Tower Bridge for £85 a night, but their prices change at the end of feb.

Try the Wyndham Chelsea Harbour. This is an all suite hotel, very high end. They often have deals on their website www.wyndham.com. It's 3 miles from theatreland, so a 10 minute taxi ride. Nice pubs and restaurants within walking distance.

Very good site that I have used a few times. They seem to be contracted by the hotels and work on their behalf but top quality service and prices that a lot of the other sites cant touch.

I've stayed at Du Vins often. Always worth calling and asking what they can do.

Staff seem to have a little leeway, not the usual automatons.

I got it from their website to be honest. I thought it was too good to be true, as the normal rate was something like £260, but no, sure enough - £145 for a garden suite all in with a bloody nice breakfast - bargain!

Used that in the past, one of those book an area and then find out where it is jobbies.

A few months later they closed the tube near my hotel, I was offered money back or full refund. Impressed by the service I was.
