Need a reliable mobile phone .....

Hi,
I had a Nokia n95 which was crap, but they wont replace it under warranty as they claim their was water damaage.. sods.. Had major software problems and was a real pain to use..
Then tried a SE p990i of ebay.. was great for about two weeks then consistantly crashed and is useless, ever after putting updated software it is even worse..
Anyone got any suggestions for my next phone.. have to go via ebay cant get a new one from orange... needs to have good internet.. thinking n73 or n80

The G1 on T-Mobile is supposed to be good and the G2 is coming to Vodafone - both have had the initial issues ironed out and seem to be reliable. Though the G2 is new so needs some settling down before its a viable option.
I have had a string of Nokia phones and currently have an E71. Both my boss, his boss and a couple of sales guys have them - all work well with only one failure with some form of hardware issue. Battery lasts days, works well and internet is just about do-able with something like Opera Mini (actually, its very good using Opera Mini!).
Just none of the flash stuff you get in the iPhone and Google phones.

Did you actually break your N95 or did you just try and claim to get a new one? Running the software/firmware updater on your PC fixes most of the issues it had when it first came out.
I got a G1 last weekend, So far seems pretty good as long as you take off the hard to see plastic wrap off the screen. Audio quality is pretty good and some of the software from it is fun. Give it a few months and the new software updates (it just asks you whether you want to update and just does it for you with one click) will give new features like on-screen keyboard (the G2 will have this as it has no hardware k/b) and better copy/paste, better bluetooth support and so on.
If you are in the nokia camp the n85 looks interesting, and the n97 looks to be good.

I like my LG secret, and it gets lobbed and battered about without complaint.
Screen is very very resistant to scratches, and the back is nicely finished in carbon fibre.
Mines had a couple of "beer baths", and been in my jean pocket through last weeks cold and snowball fighting antics without damage. It's also always in my rucksack during my mountain bike rides.
Once you get used to using it, it becomes second nature. I'm more than happy with it.
