Any Lightwave 3D users?

Newtek Lightwave 3D software.
Its a bit like 3D Studio in the like that it can create 3D models and put them into scenes or combine them with pictures and create animations etc.

Been using it for a number of years as a visualisation tool and simple fly/walk trhough animations.


Aparently it was used on the sci-fi series called Babylon 5.

I used to use it professionally years back.

It was used for the pilot and first series of Babylon5 on a bank of Amiga 4000's with Video Toaster.

Just interested to see any of your still shots.

In my proffesional usage I use it to create visualisations for public displays for future works on road junctions, bridges etc.

Private use I just create surreal water scenery.

I dabbled in Lightwave a good few years ago,
Im a 3D Studio Max person nowadays Just moved from version 8 to 2009.

Good stuff.... looks a bit more in depth than what I use it for.
I've not yet played around much with particle effects and the like.

My housemate used to use it a lot. Here's a pic of his rather good lego bike model;

I used to use it in college and really liked it (but was mostly self taught).

These days I use FormZ 3d for my work - does just what I need it too, Lightwave was a bit too much like using a Sledge hammer to crack a wall nut for exhibition & interior design / visualisation.

That lego bike made me laugh - its so good!

Some of my old 3D work, These are from around 2005/2006 not long after i started learning. Dont have any new stuff uploaded anywhere i should really get that sorted out.

and i know the 7 is not exactly accurate
