Something happy - a new addition to the family!

A Boarder Collie Puppy, here's Patsy she is 11 weeks old and already a "rescue" of sorts, someone who realised that she was just too much to take on so was desperate to find new owners. Fortunately we have had Collies before and know what to expect!!
doesn't she look sweet when she is asleep .....

But when she is awake she is a monster, trying to get her teeth into everything, including me and the camera!!

but she is able to pretend to be sweetness and innocence!!!

That's you're excuse to slope off to Scruffys on nightly walkies then John? Very cunning!!
You do know those things are madder than a box of very mad things with heaps and heaps of energy???
its our second collie ... well aware that they are as mad as a box of frogs, and and twice as cunning!! You do know those things are madder than a box of very mad things with heaps and heaps of energy???
The wife has been nagging on for us to get another pooch since we got here, i just set one simple criteria, has to be something that a bloke could walk into his local pub with!!
Fortunately since we moved, we are right by the beach, have several dog friendly bars and eateries, and a nice park (well ... golf course) all within walking distance
eta Vanya, nooooo noooo nooo .... no dustbin lids thanks!!! the dog is way calmer!!

I want a border collie!
So cute!
Border Collies aren't mad. They're just so smart that they get bored very, very easily. Which means you need LOTS of stuff for them to do. Preferably challenging, interesting stuff.
If they don't have enough to do to keep occupied and, at least when young, exhaust themselves every single day without fail then they'll invent things to do. AND YOU WON'T LIKE IT!

On the upside being so smart they can be trained to achieve great things (Hence their Sheepdog status).
They are a great and loyal friend when treated with love, kindness and a firm hand on the discipline front.
One day I will organise my life well enough to be able to have one again.
Love 'em. Love 'em.XJSJohn said:

Puppy!
Boarder Collies are the BMW M3's of the dog world I think. Although large with a limited top speed they are suprisingly agile and accelerate quickly.
