without declaring their status?

If they don't post about politics, I don't care about their status, but if, as in the case of one current poster, a majority of his posts in the P&P are partisan, political posts (with access to (not very good) briefing materials from the party, I surmise), should he not declare his status?

Depends in my opinion.

General good form would be to declare your interests in such an instance. However, if he is debating as a member rather than as a recruiting agent then fine-ish...I think...

Better to have them than not to have them. If they had to declare exactly who they were it would more than likely curtail their posting.

I disagree, most fo the people on here are open when they have an axe on a particular subject. Politics is no different to that.

Are we talking MP here or Town Councillor?

From his blog....

"Labour Parliamentary candidate for South East Cambridgeshire, Labour East Regional Board member, Vice Chair Norfolk County Labour Party"

ETA: Doesn't necessarily preclude him being a bona fide petrolhead though!

Do nothing. If any politician has something worthwhile to tell I shall be mightily surprised.

He is presumably provided with access to the Derek Draper propaganda feed. That is my principal concern (although it doesn't seem to churn out any quality information).
