Do any North Londoners have any thoughts about living in this part of town? Am currently looking at a new Bryant Homes development.

I lived in Edgware for a few years, not as bad as people are making out, its actually laregly populated by Jews, so there are the odd pockets of chavs and a few rough places, but there's also a fair bit of cash flying around that area. And the Jewish parts are VERY quiet and safe(i'm not jewish by the way).

Has easy access to the city(although i personally hate the Northern Line), and even easier access to the M25 and M1. Its also dam close to the Ace Cafe if you like that kind of thing.

I liked living there myself, and never had any trouble, except for Dominos, who deliver to one side of the main road, but not the other(the side i lived on).

I live pretty close to there and used to use Edgware station daily.

Both the high streets are a bit grim now although Edgware used to be pretty nice. Generally the area is safe and depending on where, is a pretty nice, quite area. Not a massive fan of Burnt Oak though and Edgware High street is fine to use the station and the supermarket but the rest is basically a dump! Stay off the high street though (not because of violence etc, just cos its not particularly nice) and its a nice chilled place. Easy to get to town or hit the M1, M40, M25 etc to get out of town which is why I am still here!

In laws live in the Edgeware end of Mill Hill, personally I wouldn't want to but as others have said its a few minutes to the M25 and only about 30mins on the overland from Mill Hill Broadway to Farringdon. They stay away from Burnt Oak area.

It's pretty much the border between Edgware and Burnt Oak - stuck in the middle between Edgware and Burnt Oak underground station. It's getting into the Burnt Oak area which is a bit grotty and Burnt Oak Broadway (I think it's called that at that point) is often pretty busy so expect a lot of congestion.

Area around the hospital not amazing but it depends where. Generally, North of Edgeware High Street, or across to Mill Hill are better than Burnt Oak area. If you want a drive about with someone with a bit of local knowledge, feel free to PM me.

Or, if there are a few in the area, we could always get a mini-meet together for drinks or something as well.

There's a big difference between Edgware & Burnt Oak. I'd live in the former. I wouldn't live in Burnt Oak.

As opposed to Bracknell, where Vixpy's gaff is.

Are you talking about 'The Edge'?
I've lived in the area since I was born here. I'm also a Lettings Negotiator in the area and I've recently rented a flat in the above development. Feel free to email me for my phone number for a chat.

is it the one near graham park...many years ago i lived in graham park and can say its not really a bad area, a few murders happened and dog fights and gangs formed but none of it effected me....it is funny that now you have to pay £200k to 300k for a flat in that beaumont development to have the same living standards as scumbags in housing association properties over the road....

pop down to Kingsbury Road on a Saturday morning and you can see the results of New Labour's rampant multi-cultural experiment before you decide to live in the area. If you don't mind that kind of vista, then give 'Swoxy' a call...
