Having discovered that dairy products before bed time give me weird/scary dreams I thought I'd ask what the PH massive dream about.

For instance last night I dreamt I was walking around in some sort of weird, twisted twilight world and there was absolutely nobody about. Best way to describe it is if you look at the black n white infrared photography.

Very odd.

Anything else to add PH'ers?

I remeber my dreams for about a minuite after i wake up but soon forget them so have no stories to tell. Also some nightmares do however turn into reality, depending on how many drinks i have had i could wake up to my worst nightmare....

Considering you only dream for about 3 mins a night, it's bl00dy scary how much detail you can cram into a dream.

I've recalled feature film length dreams before and probably only been asleep for about 1 hour.

So how come we speed dream?

I recently dreamt I had bought a top of the range audiophile quality stereo set up. The dream was extremely vivid and detailed, the conversation with the salesman, listening to different set ups in the shop, loading it into the car and getting it all home etc.

When I awoke I was so excited at spending my day off playing with my new toy I promptly leapt from my bed and was halfway down the stairs before grim reality caught up with me and I realised it was all a dream. Devastated. frown

I had a dream once where I'd told this amazingly funny joke. I woke up smiling (almost laughing in truth), remembered the joke, which was still quite funny in the immediate haze just after waking. It got steadily unfunnier as I walked down the stairs and my mind warmed up. By the time I'd made a coffee and sat down, I'd forgotten it. Which is probably a very good thing.

Dude, if you want to get some interesting dreams get some anti-convulsents.

Just after my doc put me on these I got some of the most full on Dolby 3D surround sound nightmares you are ever likely to have. Waking up in a cold sweat, horrible monster ones.

However once your brain gets used them things settle back down again and you only get ones where you're trying to sell John Thaw a Maybach like I had a few days ago. I always get logical interuptions to my dreams though. Someone in the dream will say "You can't sell him a car, he's dead," and then I'll wake up.

I also get a recurring dream about being back in school doing exams, realising that it crazy and then I get up and try to leave. But I can't becuase all the doors and gates of the school are locked. You don't have to be Freud to work that one out.

i've done that, either got up extra early to polish my new car, or stayed in bed after it was stolen!

I've had loads of stupid ones, i was a truck driver once and stuck on a narrow street, so i jumped out, got the truck's remote control system ( rolleyes) and stood by the side of it as i inched it out, and then it rolled off down a hill as there were no remote brakes.

The trailer unhitched and ran into a house, and the tractor unit just disappeared.

The most vivid dreams I've ever had have been lucid dreams. In the middle of your dream, you actually become aware that you are dreaming and can thus take control of the situation and move it in which ever direction you so choose.

It's an absolutely incredible experience, but I've only experienced it a few times. The first time it happened and I became aware I was lucid dreaming, I was so shocked that I woke myself up. But since then, I've been able to control the path of the dream somewhat; I can't control the situation/setting, but can control my own actions within the situation (if that makes sense).

One of the strangest yet most incredible experiences. Great if you're in the middle of a nice dream when it switches to lucid dreaming, but absolutely terrifying if you're in the middle of a nightmare and it suddenly becomes lucid...

I have recently had the most weirdest dreams - from furry bison flying around like bee's trying to sting me, to last night, someone throwing nappy bags at me whilst I was trying to drive away, but the car wouldnt start so I was pushing it... but I am pregnant so apparently you have weirder dreams then. Wish they would go away as they keep waking me up - must be lucid dreams as most of the time they wake me up, I try to change them so they don't keep me feeling anxious and then not going back to sleep again!

The only one that really sticks with me was the dream i had about being behind one of my mates in a car, and his car got hit by a train.

2 weeks later, we were out and i got a really bad case of deja vu and his car got hit by a train, killing him.

Worst part of my dreams are anything to do with my brothers death and the mechanics of his fall and his pain, also anything about my little boy being hurt or lost in a crowd.

Best dreams are the numerous female stars I've hung out the back of over the years, I'm quite the lothario you know.

When you dream of that beautiful, ethereal and ultimately unattainable woman, you always wake up with not the foggiest clue what she looks like, or even the colour of her hair.

BUT, you *know* she's the most stunning woman in the world, and you spend all of the following day desperately thinking "who IS she?"

I very regularly dream I have a row with Mrs. T and wake up and not speak to her for a day or two because I’m genuinely pissed off with her.

the worst dream is a recurring nightmare that i've had since childhood. its very hard to describe though as its quite sparse and its more the feeling it provokes whilst dreaming. i'll have a go though:

its like a cube that i recognise as being my bedroom, only its not as its just a 'space' and not even recognisable as having form, i just sense its a cube and that it is somehow familar yet disturbing. this cube is filled with a swirling current of numbers that rise & swell like the sea. i can't see anything but this, and i guess the numbers are a translucent grey/white against a totally black background. i can't see anything else and my POV is detached from a body of any kind.

the dream is just my point of view being carried around the space by the current, from side to side and from corner to corner. whilst in the middle of the space surrounded by the torrent of numbers i feel total fear, and feel comforted again when i reach a corner - which is few and far between. i try and 'hold' onto the corner, but as i'm a formless and the corner doesn't exist as such i just drift back away. the 'cube' mostly feels like an infinite space.

the experience goes on for ages and i don't think, feel or experience anything other than being unsettled/scared with brief flashes of comfort. it ends by a scene of a country lane appearing, whereby i am then walking along the lane feeling a sense of complete and total relief. its winding road with tall hedges at each side. i round a corner and see a postbox and a red car. i get in the car and drive off and then wake up.

bit weird eh?

best dreams = shagging, obviously. i don't seem to be able to dream lucidly as i awake the moment i realise i am dreaming [usu. because i realise i am looking at myself in the 3rd person].

I had a dream last night that we were running away from something (Can't remember what) but the leader of our group led us to a big massive building, and we wired the bottom of the building up to blow, and as we were doing it an army of people in officewear burst through the windows armed with scissors, the leader of our group had set us up! One of the grey office types had one of my fingers caught in between the blades of her scissors, but I managed to break them, and then I woke up...
