I’ve been back 9 pages of threads looking for this story and I can’t believe that this has missed the attention of TP&P today….

It’s nice to know that our marvellous Government are now taking sympathy on convicted violent criminals by relaxing their sentences and generally falling in line with the whole country’s apparent fixation with “celebrity”

PR job? “Oh look at us, aren’t we great by being aware of national issues”

I wonder of Wayne of violent chav from Toxteth/Handsworth/St Pauls/Wherever would have the same relaxation in similar circumstances?

I think this is an OK move due to exceptional circumstances. In normal circumstances sod that, wait until after the sentence to get married, as on this occasion this isn't an option I consider it OK.

ETA especially as at his conviction it was accepted that there was significant provocation so it's fair to say he isn't considered to be general danger to the public, it certainly wasn't a clean cut case. I'd have been tempted to tt the fker myself TBH.

nowt wrong imho, you can get out of jail for a day or get your curfew relaxed for funerals and such, its nothing out of the ordinary really.

Bit inconsistent this, why won't they let Biggs out?

Personally when it comes to violence and guns/knives I think a sentence is a sentence and they should do every last minute, preferably breaking rocks or something

Sorry Bowler, I think even crims maybe allowed the odd extenuating circumstances card..

Would seem exceptionally crass and thoughtless of the authorities to do anything otherwise, and as one of the OP said, it's not unprecedented anyway.
