Could someone explain No Country For Old Men please?

I mean - they killed the good ol'boy off unceremoniously at the end, and even MsT who can "y'all" with the best of sourthern folk was having trouble with Tommy Lee Jones final words (the dream). Anton wanders off at the end. Tommy meets his cat man mate....

And who got the money, not that it seemed to matter in the end?

Basically tommy lee says at the end, 'I'm too old for this'.

A carp ending to an otherwise excellent film.

Two things come to mind with this, they made it that way to make you think or imagine what could have happened, or there might be a sequel, but since its the cohen brothers i'm not that sure about it.

The ending was brilliant I though. Better than the hollywood guff we've all got used to 'and the good guy gets away'.

Basically that murderer guy (can't remember the name, watched the film a while ago) was a complete mental, was the point.

I read the book before i saw the film, I genuinly gasped when the killed him off,

I think the Anton Chigur/stolen money story was kinda a side story for TLJ character, He had had enough and basically cared more about his own safety than others, The books aludes to him being a bit of a coward.

The film was about Tommy Lee Jones character, more than it was about the killer and the other guy.

I thought it was an excellent film.

Good film, strange and slightly disapointing ending.

Anton got the money (from the drag marks in the A/C tunnel/shaft).

I liked the ending. Gives you something to think about rather than spoonfeeding you a typical Hollywood ending. Watching it at the cinema was quite funny - lots of old people grumbling and demanding to know WTF it was all about.

I just watched Thick as Thieves.. Coronation Street is on now, and it's better. I hate corry.

FWIW I really enjoyed NCFOM, if you've not seen it, see it.

+ 1 but good for a light hearted way to spend a couple of hours

The whole film- including the somewhat bleak ending- is a metaphor on the inevitability of death.
