I have a mortgage with the Halifax that has lapsed from a three year fixed on to Standard Variable. We want to move. Can I take the deal with me and transfer it to another property and then part-finance the remainder of the new house?

Wishful thinking probably!

It's possible if the mortgage is 'portable' - you will need to check your contract

The part finance bit would be prohibitively expensive as it would be a second mortgage, subordinate to the transferred one, so it probably won't make sense.
