Sounds like an oxymoron, but a family holiday isn't on the cards this year and at some stage I need to get away. Sitting on my arse on the beach for two weeks doesn't appeal so I thought I'd look for something different. There was write up on working holidays in the Times yesterday and a Google today throws up anything from working for the National Trust to helping out with elephants in Thailand. That would be cool, except for the mucking out yikes

Has anyone done anything like this or has any recommendations? Suggestions like cocaine smuggling or being a MP's rent boy will be amusing but otherwise disregarded! hehe

Try Waterway Recovery Group if you fancy learning to lay bricks or play with big tools. Things like petrol stone cutters, dumpers, 20 tonne excavators...
