Awesome film, 28 Weeks is cracking too, but not one for those who like predictable happy endings!

I picked both up in a box set for about 7 quid last month. HMV I think. Farkin bargain! biggrin

I thought it was quite poor compared to 28 days. The opening scene was immense, but the rest of the film was quite dull. It was very anti-US, laughably so in fact.

It was also shot in that annoying "shakey cam" that seems to be so popular now. Cmon! At the very least, buy a tripod!

Seriously? Don't get me wrong, I liked 28 Weeks Later as well. But the original 28 Days Later is much better.

It's a good film and not in any way a rehashing of John Wyndham's Day of the Triffids. wink

Agreed, although I'd limit that to the first half of the first film. The scenes in empty London are sheer brilliance; the later bits...not so much.

I thought it was at best average. Kind of a selection of bits from The Day of The Triffids and Dawn of the Dead. The blurb on the back of the DVD box describes it as an original film (the title was)

Very good only spoiled by 'filming' it on digital video.

Can't remember if I've seen this one or "28 weeks later". Whichever one it was, I enjoyed it! Guess I'll find out in an hour biggrin

Got 28 Days Later on DVD. To be honest I found it a bit crap, fair enough acting was OK and the storyline made sense, but it's a bit boring after a while, and zombies jumping out everywhere is a bit predictable. Shaun of the Dead is much better in my small, tiny minded opinion.

Is it anything like that one with Will Smith that I can't remember the name of... despite watching it about 3 times on a long haul flight...

No, the Will Smith film was a shocking adaptation of a great book.

28 Days later is a decent British horror film.
