Not sure if this is a repost but I can't believe this - the technology is mind-boggling!

This is a photo from the 2009 Inauguration, in which you can see in focus the face of each individual in the crowd. You can scan, double click and zoom to any section of the crowd, wait a few seconds and the focus adjusts.

The picture was taken with a robotic camera at 1,474 megapixel. (295 times the standard 5 megapixel camera)
Find Obama and then all the VIPs sitting nearby!

Errr..no.

It was taken with a standard Canon G10 which is 15 Megapixels.

It's 220 photos stitched together.

I've never seen it before

'Nose pickers, there is no escape'

That is seriously impressive, you can almost make out the words on the Autocue... which is more than Obama himself could manage standing a foot away from the bloody thing

If you look closely just above Obama you can see one of the lines where the photos have been stitched together - there are all sorts of problems going on!

Does anyone know what the period of time was between the first image capture and the last?
And also what shutter speed was used? (Interested in how long the robot takes between shots to move the camera on.)
