I was about to say this was soo old, it was mentioned in the Rosetta stone, but it's nice to see some new stuff from this guy, especially on such a large scale.

These paintings are incredible - I'd love to see one for real!

I assume they only work from one angle?

It's a different guy. The ones in this thread are by Edgar Mueller. the previous ones that everyone knows about are by Julian Beever.

Julian Beever is a great artist, if you like that kind of stuff then Kurt Wenner is well worth a Google.

Astonishing. I have always wondered if it would be possible using the same perspective method used to create a video projection.

I don't get it.

There are two photos of the same street with the same buildings visible near the camera. Yet the 'art' on the ground is different in each one. Why would they do the whole thing twice? And if it took 5 days to create each one, isn't it possible that the cars would have moved at some point, either buggering up the art or leaving a gap in the design? Is it likely that all the work involved in putting an island under that Nissan (2nd picture foreground) would have been risked for the owner of the car to get in it and drive off over what they'd achieved?

I need photos of the work from a different direction before I'll believe it. smile

the second ones clearly a photoshop! The mini is missing its side and since when could pavement paint/chalk do neon effects for the lava? The nissan on the pillar is too small and its "stand" has moved from the first picture too. The drain cover at the front right of the top picture has swapped sides too, plus a million and one other things, why did they bother doing the 'shop? The first and 3rd pictures are cool as hell on their own.

Concept art maybe?

Bet he doesn't just turn up and do it on the fly and make it up as he goes along.

That is very true. I guess I'm not alone in thinking that this was going to be the same old (as fantastic as they are!) but no! New stuff!
